Hello, my name is Amy.

I am an Integrative Counsellor and Circle Facilitator.

Counselling:

I Just like the phases of the moon, we all go through periods in our life which can feel dark. I offer a warm, safe space to work with you through your distress and pain. I'm here to walk alongside you as we explore your thoughts, feelings, emotions and experiences that are causing you distress.

Being a professionally qualified (NCPS/MBACP) integrative counsellor - trained in different therapeutic approaches - I work intuitively to tailor sessions to your unique needs. I work holistically to incorporate your connection to yourself and your environment, looking at the cycles and patterns present in your life and bringing an awareness to the choices and changes which could be made.

My role is to give you time and space to help you to feel empowered to grow and move forwards and bring more light into your life.

You don't have to go through your troubles alone.

I offer weekly or fortnightly face-to-face sessions on Thursdays from my fully-equipped, cozy counselling room in Abbotskerswell. Alternatively, you can engage in therapy from the comfort of your own home. I offer online sessions (through the 'Whereby' platform) throughout the week - including evenings.

As I'm fortunate enough to be based in Devon, we are also able to take our work outside to use the nature around us to ground, bring awareness of the seasons and connect to our environment. I'm fully trained and insured to offer sessions outdoors - with possible locations including Cockington, Bradley Woods, Stover Country Park or walks along the South West Coast Path. Some clients find by walking and talking that they can open-up more freely than inside the room, and we can access natural resources to help explore feelings and make sense of ourselves and the world.

Circle Facilitator:

I'm trained in circle facilitation by Circlewise to hold space for small groups such as women's groups, youth clubs, support groups and schools. I adhere to the principles of council in that there is some kind of magic which occurs when we come together in circle (much like that of our ancient elders). Authenticity, spontaneity, listening and connection are all traits which emerge from the circle, and it's a space where great wisdom can be shared and understood.

Get in touch to here more, and watch this space for future circle groups for young people.

Personal Info:

I live with my partner and 2 children in Marldon. I grew up in Devon , but then spent 10 years living and working in Tokyo as an English language teacher.

It was whilst in Japan that I first became interested in mindfulness and forest bathing, and then started my own journey of healing and self-discovery.

Through my teaching career, I have experience of working with both adults and teenagers, and still support those in the community who need to develop their English and communication skills.

In my free-time I love getting out in nature and my love of dance music has lead me to take up hula-hooping and poi as a way to stay active.
