Hello, my name is Karina.

I am a Pluralistic Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor.

Counselling:

I can offer a style of counselling that suits you personally and what you are bringing to the session. When you start sessions with me, I will help you to overcome any barriers or big emotions that are weighing you down. My job is to help you become the best version of yourself, so that you can live your best life. For me, this is what counselling is all about- helping you when you feel stuck or overwhelmed, and then getting you to a place where you are back in the driving seat and in control of your life.

I believe that counselling offers you a safe space to be heard, supported and to explore a variety of questions, such as who do you want to be? What do you want to change? How can you be the best version of yourself? Whatever the reason for attending counselling, I offer a comfortable space with no judgment and full acceptance. I am an empathetic, understanding person who is both easy to talk to and a great listener. In my opinion, successful counselling requires a strong, therapeutic relationship to be established, so it is important you find the right Counsellor for you.

Supervision:

I am a nurturing and passionate person, who loves to work experimentally and collaboratively to help my supervisees develop both personally and to enhance their skills as counsellors.

I will offer a safe space with honesty and authenticity so that vulnerability can be shared. We will work together to enhance quality, advance learning and stimulate creativity. I take my role as supervisor seriously and will ensure safety and ethics are followed and understood by my supervisees.

I also offer supervision for counselling children and young people, as this is a particular specialism in my own practice. Working in private practice and running my own business, I am also able to offer support with growing your own practice and have a good knowledge of using social media for business purposes.

Personal Info:

I am 36 years old, married with 2 little boys. The 4 of us live in Paignton and we love being near the coast. I recently took up sea swimming and will often head to the beach for a space of calm. I find the sound of the ocean very therapeutic.

Singing is a passion of mine- I sing in choir settings and also use singing as part of my self-care. Other hobbies include reading and gardening.

I was previously a Primary School Teacher and love offering counselling in school settings, as well as working with children privately. My knowledge of schools and child development allows me to offer a unique service in schools, as I am able to offer tools that are useful and practical for school staff while making a big difference for the children I am working with.
